Armour All? The stuff you use on car dashboards?Leon Jester
because of the ultraviolet screens it makes a good sealer.
it does make it improbable to put any finish over it.
to continue my querry about perple heart as a viable
wood to use outside is there anyone with a piece they done that has

Two years ago I went to Pt. Townsend, WA for the Wooden Boat Festival. I was checking out a refurb job in progress on a 40'+ sailboat in a shop. They had sistered most of the bulkheads with Purpleheart. Probably 16/4! I was blown away because of the obvious expense. The shop owner told me that PH is as good as it gets for below the waterline because it just won't rot. So if you can afford it I'd guess PH would be a very good choice for deck furniture.John O'Connell - JKO Handcrafted Woodworking

We trained hard, but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up into teams, we would be reorganized. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganizing; and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress while producing confusion, inefficiency, and demoralization.

at last purchase 4/4 was under $3.00 8/4 under $4.00

I do believe that Armor-all is water soluble and would wash off the surface pretty easily. I don't think it would offer much in the way of long-term protection in an outdoor environment.
