How can I machine a pyramid for a raised panel, I have ten of them to make so I am looking for a easier solution than hand planing. The panels measure 300mm(12”) square.

If you can view it, this article shows how to raise a panel by hand, on a ruter table, or on a tablesaw. It's from FWW #173
"If you can view it,"
That if is a mighty big word. For the past few days I have had a problem opening Taunton's PDF files. I have always had a problem with their video clips. I cannot seem to get any help from their tech support people, either. I don't know what's up with that.Harry

harry,
What's the problem with PDF files? Have you tried it from another WEBsite and do you have the same problem? Hopefully you have Adobe Reader installed?
As for the videos I'm not much help there. I view them with no problems in IE6. I don't have Flashplayer installed, just Irfanview which also has a plugin for videos. When I play a Taunton video it plays in IE, I tink.

Yeah, Bob, I have Adobe installed. The problem with the files is that my browser just hangs up and nothing happens. The problem is nonexistent anywhere else...just on Taunton's domain.
I have Irfanview also, but I didn't know you could watch the video clips on it. I'll check that out.
Thanks for the help,Harry

harry,
On the Taunton link for the PDF file(s), what happens when you right click on it? Do you get a drop down menu with a selection that says Save Target as? If so, what happens when you select it?

Bob, it saves it then I can open it, but I don't want to have to save every article before I can read it.Harry

Ok, that was just a check for me to see what was going on.
When I click on a PDF link in Taunton I see a progress update in the lower left hand corner of my screen (on the Task Bar) that shows me how much has been downloaded to my PC, dynamically updated as it downloads. Do you see that?
If you have a slow connection, i.e. Dial Up this could take a while before it finishes. What you perceived as hanging, mebbe? If you don't see this, and you let it go, does it eventually finish?

Yes, I see the update bar while it is downloading, but it gets to a point then just hangs. I am not on dial-up...I am on satellite which is supposed to be comparable to dsl. So, the download speed shouldn't be the problem.Harry

Hello!
I looked at the article mentioned in the past reply. This gives you a place to start but not a real answer.
What I would like to recommend is using a router on a jig set at the angle that will cut the proper slope on the piece of wood. The panel is moved below the jig, a part is removed and the panel is moved to the next position for the next cut. Make sure to secure both the jig and the panel. Be sure to do a test first to check your set up.

I would do much as you suggest except that I would use a thickness planer and sled.
