Looking to get new 1/4″ and perhaps 5/16″ sets for my mortising machine. Are the newer alloys better for the heat generated, can they resist the torque applied to the bits, . . . Any suggestions as to suppliers/manufacturers would also be appreciated.

Does everyone just buy Delta and other machinery brands?
I tested a sample from Fisch, and the chisel had a much harder steel and better temper than either the Delta of Jet versions.
