All,
I am very disappointed with the results after a second attempt at having a local sharpening service sharpen the knives for my joiner. Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent sharpening service in the NJ area or a service that I can ship the knives to?
Thanks for your help ..

I get wonderful service and quality from Reading Precision Grinding, Reading, Pa. They have dealt with me only via mail. 60 cents an inch, plus postage. They grind at 35 deg., and then hone with a slight, very slight, back bevel, making total angle 40 degress, which is quite good for figured woods. Quick and friendly. Very knowledgable. They do my knives that way, but will do them any way you like.

Thanks for the recommedation..
Could you give me an address, etc. for the PA sharpening service? Do they do table saw blades and router bits?
I work part time at a Woodworkers Warehouse in Upstate NY and we have a contract with an outift in Conn to sharpen just about everything. We send them out every Tuesday and they come back the next Tuesday. The prices are reasonable and the work is top quality. We don't get any complaints.
There may be a store near you. There are several in NJ.
John
