I am in the middle of a custom builtin for a big $ client and they have requested QS dowels.
Anyone have a source?
Thanx in advance

I have had good experience with Midwest Dowel in Ohio:

You might want to give them a call - they seem very helpful when I've talked with them.

Ha, ha, Mr. T. Good one for April 1st. Ha, ha, ha, ha.
They're all quarter sawn anyway, aren't they, viewed from either end of one line of sight, ha, haha, ha, ha? Slainte.

What wood and what size? I have a lot I can sell you. Of course, being so difficult to make they are extremely expensive. But, what ever the customer wants............

you must be kidding!
all dowels will wind up being quarter sawn at some point! (unless.... they do them out of the very center of the tree)
either someone doesn't understand quartersawing or this is a joke..
Frenchy, it's April 1, right?
John
OK HAH-HAH ya got me! darn I feel foolish (can I claim I just forgot the date?)
Ah ha, but one could be sure the dowels are made from rived stock which would yield straighter, stronger grain. (Notice I used the words "be sure" which do not imply that one would actually do it ones self - unless of course you have very wealthy clients who'd pay for such a thing.)
Jeff
Man I hope you pulled better than that out of the hat today!
