John …This question is actually for William Duckworth ..as he wrote an article in FWW #165 2003 Titled “Sharpening a Different Approach” I thought maybe if you cannot answer it …to send it on to Mr Duckworth.
The article was about using abrasives in powder form on granite..I like the idea tho i cannot find any abrasives in the powder form …William Duckworth said in the article ..powder abrasives were available from Willmann-Bell INC. The Willmann-Bell website does not offer any powder abrasives and i was wondering if someone else knew where to get powder abrasives …i.e Silicon-Carbide and Aluminum Oxide …thanks ..

Thanks for your reply ....I checked out the AMLAP.com website and they do not list their powder abrasives as such i.e silicon carbide is not listed as silicon carbide ...I will email or call them to find out how they list it ....
thanks again for your reply.

Powdered abrasives in small quantities are used by people who polish stones as a hobby. If you do a Google search for "rock tumbling supplies" you will get a number of places that sell what you need, here's one: http://therockshed.com/grit.html
