I have been making sevaral doors using this shaper cutter. I have made them with the 3/8 cutter for the groove and stub tenon. I can’t figure out how to get the 5/8 stub tenon set up, after using both cutters for the groove. Any help or experiance would be appreciated. Thanks Mike

There are two ways to make the 5/8" stub tenon. One is to use cutter 1 alone and make two passes, flipping the rail. The other (and in my opinion better) is to obtain an extra 1/4" spacer (or stack shims to make 1/4"). We don't offer a spacer for this but our AN73MEA9 shim set will accomplish it.

Freud America, Inc.Sorry folks for steelin' this post...I use your blades.. Hard to find.. Always sold out! Geeee.. Well at least for the money I want to spend! My thought only.. I got a thin kerf blade.. I'm old so maybe I did not have my glasses on..Thin kerf did not fit the width of my riving blade.. OK, so it was just a splitter... I like to feel I'm into better things..Maybe you had that on the label for the blade but I'm old and never saw it! The 'stick' just stopped and no kick back!'We humans can be stupid sometimes.. OK, so I have been since birth..

WillGeorge,As far as I know, all of our thin kerf blades are marked as such. I think TK splitters are available for most saws but if it's a new blade the dealer from whom you purchased may swap with you for a full kerf blade.

CharlesM, thank you for your response. I tried your second method and get a small sliver of the stub tenon that is not cut and has to be recut because not enough cutting surface on the two big cutters. Is this correct or am I stil doing it wrong?
Thanks
The cutters do not overlap enough to cut the entire tenon to length when making the 5/8". You will either need to control the depth of cut or trim the small piece off in a separate operation.
