Hello all I’m Bill the obnoxious highrise plumber from breaktime. 😉
I am building my wife a hallway table for Christmas, half round, single drawer, & a single cab door.
I’m building this out of walnut with a tung oil finish & I don’t really have time to shop around for a hardware finish for the drawer pull & door handle.
So what goes best with walnut—– brass, nickel, painted stainless etc etc etc??????

Bill,
There is no answer to your question. "What goes best with walnut," has no meaning whatever outside of the reaction that you and your wife have to the combination. It depends on so many factors. Every type of hardware you mentioned works well.
You don't have time to select the components of your piece? Then stop the project right now.
Seriously. Sand a sample of the wood, put on whatever stain (if any) you are going to use, a few coats of finish. You can blow it dry with a hair drier. Take the sample and your wife to Home Depot or Lowes. Stand in front of the cabinet hardware display "wall," let her pick out the drawer pulls, and whatever other hardware she wants, and get back home to finish the job.

Yeah I was kinda figuring that would be the answer.
Generally I don't know until the project is done then I step back & look & figure what goes best at that point.
I think I'll probably not put the pulls on it & let her pick something out after Christmas.
I haven't worked with walnut in 25yrs, I forgot how soft that wood is.

Take a virtual trip over to LeeValley.com and pick out something that strikes your fancy. For me, it's more the style of the piece than the wood it's made out of that dictates the hardware. What you describe could fall into any one of a number of styles.
Or, you could whip somehting up outa some of that 1/2" copper that you have laying around. ;-)

Yeah, I'm not sure what was going through my head when I posted the question this morning.
I've been working on the piece all day & am about ready to throw a bomb into my garage.
I really need a shop------- I have way too many tools & materials in my garage to do any projects with any sort of efficiency during the winter.
