I am in the market for a rabbett plane to be used mostly for fitting tenons. Stanley makes 3 versions (no. 90, 92, and 93). If you were going to purchase only one which would it be? I would appreciate any advice/recommendations anyone could provide. Thank you in advance, Bill

i like the #93 only because it is a little longer than the others. since i use it as a shouder plane for trimming long shoulders, i like the extra length. the #90 is also a good size for small parts.
Bill,
The #90 is actually a bullnose triming plane, the #92 and #93 are shoulder planes primarily used for cleaning up the shoulders and cheeks of tenons.
While the #90 is a very handy plane, it's not really that suitable for cleaning up tenons because of it's bull nose. So, out of the three mentioned a #92 or #93 would be more versitile, like the #90 they can also be used as a small chisel plane. If I had only one to choose, I would go with the #92. FWIW.

Bszydlo,
I have only one trimming plane: a #92. I have never had the need or inclination to get another one.
