Have a 12″ Sears radial arm saw , fried motor , does anybody know where to get one , if available…Sealed case…Is it trashed ? Don’t use it much , but it was passed down to me…Thanks , dm

You can try to order one from Sears, but I think you will find that it will be better to buy a new one. The Sears shank does not accomodate a 3/4" Dado blade for plywood slots. I had the same problem and Sears wanted about $500 for the new motor and $200 to install it, something like that.
I found it was a better deal to get an old DeWalt from the 1950's with a 240v motor and a shank that accomodated the full range of Dado Blades. At least if the motor fried, you have a decent saw to start with. You can pick up an old DeWalt, like I did for about $500-1500.

Thanks , just what thought , originally ordered a Forrest blade with a 5/8 arbor , fell in love the blade , guess time to toss the saw...dm
Don't trash the saw yet. Craftsman motors for RAS's show up pretty often and go pretty cheaply on ebay.
