the april issue of Fine Woodworking it shows a formula for drawing large radius curves, Radius=(Length2 / 8X Rise) + (Rise / 2), does not seem to equate, am I doing the formula wrong, Help….

You might want to use this one instead since the constant 8 is not needed:
(((L/2)² / H) + H) /2
The formula posted by Kyle was the first one I’ve seen that used the 8 constant and didn’t require six steps to calculate. The one he posted uses 5 and so does the one above.
