Rail-based push stick for ripping
The current Wood Magazine has a good-looking design (user-submitted) for a ripping pusher on page 22. Check it out, say what ya think.

We used some like that for our bies. I did'nt like the lack of control as to where you are pushing. I like to push at a slight angle adding pressure to the fence to prevent kickback. Can't do that with device attached to the fence.
I still use 3/4" Plywood home made pushsticks, and cut them up when I do small rips, and toss them when the are used up.
An understandable reservation. I use a featherboard (Grip Tite, magnetic) whenever possible.
I like the way the Wood design allows for the jig to self-adjust height-wise.

Is it in issue 168, March 2006 or issue 169, April/May 2006?
I don't have it here right now, but it must have been April/May, because it just came in the mail last week. If I'm wrong, I'll post back here. It's in the user-submitted section in the front.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
