Does anyone know how rain chimes are made? They are boxes containing small steel beads that, when turned upside down, cling to the roof. Then when you turn the box right side up the beads fall slowly onto hand-tuned chimes. They are called rain chimes or nature chimes. The sound they make is lovely, and I’d like to make my own. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Here are a couple of examples:

B,
Never heard, or heard of one until now. They appear interesting.

Why noy buy one and take it apart?
On the first of your example URLs, there is an explanation at the bottom of the page. The underside of the lid is covered with adhesive. The bbs stick to it, and drop off it over time. The adhesive must be considered a part that will wear out. It is shipped separate from the box, and the owner installs it. There is also a second adhesive strip, to be used after the first one gives up the ghost.
