Apologies upfront. I know there are many posts on this subject but ironically there is too much information to process.
I am building Garrett Hacks Hunt table that has raised panel doors of a different wood than the rest.
Based on what I read I should finish the panel with danish oil and poly ( my preference) prior to assembly and make sure that any glue areas have no finish. Glue used only to hold panel in place not to restrict seasonal movement.
If I am satisfied with the end result of this Hunt Table I will promote myself to Humble Novice

Hi Larry
Sounds good. There is another option to gluing (and worrying about not covering the glue spot). Various manufacturers have developed an insert of a flexible tubular section that holds the raised panel firm but allows seasonal movement. Sorry I don't have a reference for you.
