is anyone having a problem with hook and loop ro pads losing their velcro adhesion? i’ve tried blowing off the pads, firmly pressing the sanding disc to the pad, given up buying cheap discs and not allowing myself to use worn discs. thanks eef

They don't last forever, but all of the Makita and Dewalt ROS that I have used have replaceable pads. The kit costs ~$10 if I remember correctly. You will need the right size torx driver to remove the DW; can't remember on the Makita.

had my bosch about 10 years now. Probably gone through 5 or 6 hook and loop pads by now. They need to be replaced every so often. Should be available from any decent tool supplier or repair shop. takes 2 minutes to replace.
Seems that using extra coarse grits exacerbates the problem. I've replaced the pad on my PC once, and it is several years old.
Hey sounds like it would be a good time to try a pad for PSA paper. Myself I think they sand better than the hook and loop not sure but think stick on is less expense.

as everybody has noted they wear out, I keep the worn ones and sand remaining loops off and now have pad for stickys.
