I am planning a table based on the one by William Krase in Issue #165 and am confused about the dimensions of the top. He says the folding method he uses does not work for square, round or oval tops, but is suitable for table top with a length-to-width ratio of 1.2 to 1.8. (His top is 25×36). Does anyone know if there is any flexibility in that ratio? I want a table that is closer to square when opened.
Thanks,
Neal

I'm not sure why he says a square top won't work. It looks to me as if it would.
I drew a 12 x 24 "leaf" and laid out the pivot point as he describes. You can see the dimensions in the image.
