Rear table stuck on Delta 37-220 jointer
Hi,
I recently picked up an old 37-220 (FC series, circa 1972 I think) and the rear table is stuck. The mechanism underneath that normally moves when you rotate the wheel is stuck, all the way to the left. I’m dreading trying to open it up because I’m not super mechanical. Any ideas/thoughts? Thanks!

Clean it. Start with a sift brush and vacuum, then a stiff brush. Toothbrush maybe. Then some oil.
Problem solved! Nothing a little compressed air and PB Blaster can’t solve, apparently! Thank you for your help!
The once-square lock screw is now basically round from who knows how many vice grips, wondering if something like this could be replaced?
Now that it’s working, now I have to tune it up so it’s actually true. I’ve read a few posts referencing a VHS tape by John White called “Tuning Up A Jointer”, any other resources you’d recommend?
Thanks!

I’ve taken two classes taught by him at North Bennett and he’s a good instructor.
He has one here regarding jointers.

Assuming the lock screw is the pic on the left, it looks like it was hand made from a bolt, a point ground on the threaded end and cleaned up w/ a file. I'd leave the hex head on the other end and keep a wrench handy. If there isn't room for a hex head and wrench, use an internal hex screw and keep an "Allen wrench" handy.
