I can’t locate my copy of FWW that has a review of the top bandsaw blades. Does anyone recall the top brands. Also, is there a way to pull up the article on this site as a subscriber and member of the forum
Oops, Found the magazine. It was actually a 2004 issue. I now recall reading the article on line. It must have something to to with short term memory. Never the less, there are so many blades on the market and too expensive to try them all. Have there been any break-throughs in band saw blade technology since 2004.
I have a 1975 14″ Delta, 3/4 hp.

I really like suffolkmachinery.com and their Timberwolf blades - different designs for different types of wood cutting, and telephone support is first rate.
no breakthroughs
There haven't been any real technological breakthroughs for woodworking bandsaws of which I'm aware.
For general-purpose work, I like Olson blades (olsonsaw.com). Stock sizes, which would likely apply to your 14" Delta, can be ordered from various retailers. They also make to order for non-standard sizes, which I need for my old 18" Inca three-wheeler.
Useful info on the Olson site, too.
2nd Timberwolfe
I've been a fan of timberwolfe blades for a long time for most cutting for resawing if you can swing the price is the laguna carbide tipped blades(if you have a sawmill creek acount they give you a big discount which I used when I bought mine) I've heard a lot of good things about the the woodslicer as well just never had one.
timber Wolf ? Wood Slicer
In the past week I have read so much in this forum and watched many videos that I feel I can now make a rational decision on blades and set up. It's good to be amongst like minded folk. I canceled one order and reordered a blade from Highland Woodworking which will be here Thursday. In the meantime I put on a 1/4" x105' TimberWolf and am getting great results up to a 4" cut. It's a little rougher than I would like but straight, plumb and no bow. I guess you can teach an old dog. Thanks again all who contributed. I'm enjoying this forum and intend on making more use of it,
Not all blades are too expensive. I had tried saw blades from http://www.sawblade.com and learned that their blades are 30% lower compared to the other brands. No worries, quality is not compromised with this price range.
If you check out http://www.bandsawblog.comyou will find a growing list of articles written on multiple, mutliple subjects all related to band saw blades and technology.
