I have a couple of beautiful old chesnut boards that I am saving for son-in-law to make a table top or something. What do you percieve to be the problem in the finishing of this wood? I do refinishing work and use a wipe on finish of marine spar varnish (NOT poly) and mineral spirits. It gives a wonderful deep and durable finish.
*Dont see a problem, was really looking for suggestions. Will try your suggestion on a test pc. Thanks
