I advice you to find some inspiration at the https://woodencaterpillar.com.
Here you can see some interesting toys, like bears and pigs, etc.
Fine Woodworking doesn't have many, but other magazines have had a lot of articles on toy projects. There are a lot of books on wooden toys as well, which you could find with a quick Google search.
There have also been a few books on woodworking with children. I don't expect yours is ready for a table saw at 3 years old, but time flies.
I know several children who are ready for the tablesaw. However, sawing up annoying children was made illegal in 1791 (except in Texas).
