Does anyone know where to get Record C-clamps in Canada at a decent price. I know they have been dropped by most retailers but I love these clamps and I’d like to purchase some 3″, 4″, 6″, & 8″. Let me know, thanks.

Watch your Canadian Tire fliers. I bought several from them when they were selling boxes of three 4" Record C-clamps for $15, or three 6" for $20 a few years ago.
Just a note that I buy all my C clamps from Harbor Freight (one of the few things I still get there); from time to time they have sales on all sizes. As an example, I recall getting 6" clamps for about $3-4 each on sale. Their prices are great, the clamps work well and have held up over rather hard use.
Hi Alex,
I looked on their website and did not find any Record clamps, they probably discontinued them like most retailers, but thank you for the info.
Sorry, I didn't mean they sold Record but rather a generic C-clamp. These clamps were a distinct value and I was suggesting you might want to try them. Sorry, I wasn't clear.
maybe this can help?

they ship worldwide.
Record tools was bought by Rubbermaid about a year and a half ago ,they immediately closed the production facilities in England. This included Vises ,clamps, Hand planes...etc. The Idea was to move all of the tooling to China. The first prototypes of the vises sucked so bad that they were not marketable. this was the the last I heard. If you find any Record clamps they are leftovers that are no longer in production so by a lifetime supply.'cause anything coming out of china will never match the old Record quality.
Another good company bites the dust.

Thank you for the info about what is going on with the company. I heard that the brand was no longer distributed in North America but they were still being manufactured in England. I didn't know about the company closing or the move to China. This is why I am scrambling around to find Record clamps. I did get myself a good vise and I think planes can be bought at used tool sales but the clamps are difficult to find. I have found a couple o retailers in England who still have them but at the exchange rate for the pound they end up being very pricey. I guess I should've bought them when they were available here.
record is now Irwin http://www.irwin.co.uk/index.htm
Thank you for the link. I looked on their site and the prices are very high (especially the vises) plus you have to add shipping from the UK to North America. I am looking for anyone here in Canada or the US that has some stock of record C-clamps left to sell.
Note also that most of the products are "currently out of stock" guess why? My info was confermed by R. lee of lee valley tools as to the production. If you check the archives you might find it. Since Lee Valley was one of Records major North American distributers I think it is valid confermation.

Hi! i havent checked the prices, I was just pointing out that Record is now Irwin, so you have to look for Irwin clamps
This is true Boubou, I looked on the site a bit further and found that they have bar clamps they are reasonably priced and available so there are good clamps available from Irwin. I have spent part of the afternoon calling different hardware stores in my city and I managed to find about 12 Record C clamps in assorted sizes so I think there are a few still floating out there it's a matter of picking up a phone book and calling around. Thank you.
If you are still looking for the old Record c clamps,I have 4 -#4s I’m selling. I’d like to see them go to a home that will appreciate the quality. If you are still interested send me a message at [email protected]
