Hello all
Does anybody have experience with eastern red cedar for outdoor furniture, does it need to be sealed or can it be left natural?
I’m more interested in wood preservation than I am in asthetics.
If it needs to be sealed, what is a good product to use?

This is a durable outdoor wood, though commonly I think reserved more for uses where its aromatic properties are used. It should weather to some sort of grey. The only thing I believe should be done is to coat any end grain surfaces that would be in ground contact with a couple of coats of epoxy as a sealer.
