I build a whole set of cabinet for our kitchen. Done and all set to be installed. One day I had to do one wall so we could still use the kitchen while I work around it. Ripped one upper wall cabinet and the box above it. Then cut the countertop and base’s bump out island then just put it out of the way to the end of the kitchen. Wife comes home from church and notice the openness and loved that out of the way cabinet that I just put. She asked can we change the plans? She liked it that way. Now I had to get those Japan saws that can cut flush and cut the front off of one side of the new island face. Patched that opened part and the flip it around then that part is going to that wall where I had put the old one. Looks good as you can’t tell that I had build it for something else. I would have to make a new box and add that cut out frame to it then add it to the missing spot. I’m going to make the upper one for that new spot too. Have you guys ever did something then found you have to change it?

I can't think of a time when I haven't! Try working with customers if you think the wife is difficult.

It isn't uncommon for customers to change their minds during the planning stage but once it's built they are advised that changes are fine but additional charges will accrue. My dear wife on the other hand has been changing her mind on our kitchen reno so many times I'm ignoring her now (cabs have been constructed & are currently stockpiled). The next step is to figure out an exit strategy that gets this thing fitted & that doesn't involve missing body parts:-)
