I am waincoating my office with redwood paneling taken from an old warehouse. Most of the planed redwood is vertial grain. What is the best finish to keep a natural look.
Thanks,
Phil

Phil,
An attractive and relatively easy finish is to give it a couple of coats of blonde shellac followed by a coat or two of wax. Zinseer Seal Coat is blonde shellac available every where. This finish will not radically alter the look of the redwood.
You could also put one of the commercial oils such as minwax, watco, waterlox etc. This is also an easy finish but will alter the base color a fair amount.
If you have any wood leftover, do a few samples to see what you like.

Thanks for your redwood finish suggestion.
