I have a Stickley cherry dining room set that is about 25 years old with an oil finish which is in need of refinishing. I would like to refinish the set and would like to consider a more durable finish (I have three young kids). I am considering a catalyzed lacquer finish.
How can I strip the finish so that I can successfully apply a catalyzed laquer or similar finish?
thanks.

If this is a real Stickley don't touch it.
Doubleditto.
And ask before even trying to clean it.
