I am planning to refinish a set of ash legs to match cherry stool tops. The legs have been finished with boiled linseed oil and then wax. I can readily remove the wax with mineral spirits. Any suggestions as to what type of cherry finish will best penetrate the linseed oil into the ash?
thanks

A gel stain is the most likely to work, though I must say I have often liked the contrast between cherry and a lighter wood like natural ash.
