Does any body have any advice on refinishing kitchen cabinets that were in a house fire? There are a few small spots where they got hot enough to bubble the finish. I beleve the old finish is poly ,
Could i scuff sand them, apply a coat of shellac to seal in the smoke smell then apply two or three coats of poly scuff sanding between coats?
Have a nice day Lee

Lee ,
There are several products that eliminate or greatly reduce the smoke smell , see if you can use it instead of trapping the smell to always have it . If you are talking just a few areas on a few doors you may get away with your touch ups , as long as the existing finish is one you can match .
good luck dusty
