I have custom cherry kitchen cabinets that are 15 years old and have an oil finish on them. They need to be cleaned and refinished. What is the best way to go about this. Thank you,Fernly.

Mineral spirits and 0000 steel wool should work. Then re-apply a new coat of oil or maybe two coats. A small amount of dish soap in water also works but don't soak the wood, use a damp rag and then wipe down with clean water.
