Relatively new, building furniture, and stumped by angles
So I’ve been introduced to the beautiful world of woodworking. I built a couple of ladder shelves and enjoyed the experience, so I’ve tried to move on to building more complicated things. However, it seems my math and trig need help.
I’ve been stumped by the angles on both of the following attachments. I understand that in both instances, the pieces have a reverse bevel (at about 30 degrees in one and 45 degrees in the other). I do not seem to be getting how to construct those corners. I’ve tried a lot of test pieces, and I seem to be getting close, but no cigar.
For the console, I made a 45 degree bevel cut in both pieces of wood, made a 55 degree miter-30 degree bevel compound cut in the corners. It does not sit properly inside the outer frame.
For the other, I can’t seem to get the base pieces to line up.
I’d appreciate some help. Thank you so much!
Artie.

A tip - when you cut the angles, make the same cuts on a thick block of wood to use as a set-up guide when you need to make more cuts.
Thanks for the advice, Stan!
Here's another:

The angle for the console is 30 degree tilt on the table saw, and 54.74 degree miter.
Thank you, MJ.
