Are the new Bosch and Festool jigsaws equal in the 90 degree cut category. What about power, ease of control and the least amount of vibration? Which saw gives the best overall feedback to the user? Does the Festool ramp up to speed quickly when the highest speed is selected of does it have a soft-start feature like the new Bosch?

Has anyone compared the dust collection of the new Bosch and Festool jigsaws with a vacuum attached and the dust shield off?
I can't speak for the Festool jig-saw, rover1. But my Bosch barrel-grip cuts true and with ease. I prefer the barrel grip over all others I have tried. The feel and grip relate to you controlling the saw instead of the saw controlling you. Just my take after having used one for that last 4 years.
Good luck with your decision...
grinder47.. SARGE
Rover, I feel the same as Sarge on my barrel Bosch. It cuts true and fast. The only time it got very warm was cutting 3/4" hard maple with a hollow ground up cut blade for the face frames on my son-in-laws "new" addition for their dishwasher (I hate dishwashers) on site. I have had others but this cuts super clean with great control. All the best, Pat
Bosch
Bosch. Had mine for over 20 years.
I've been using a Bosch jig saw for 15 or 20 years. Even though the newest models incorporate some very nice features, mine still pleases me enough that it's doubtful I'd get anything else unless it were lost or destroyed, in which case I'd buy another Bosch.
