Removing / Reinstalling Custom Panel on Fridge
Hi everyone –
I have a subzero refrigerator which has a custom walnut wood panel. I want to tighten the handle on the panel, but given the way the panel is installed, I need to remove the panel from its mount to get at the handle. The wood panel has screws drilled according to a template, which make it perfectly placed right now on the refrigerator. My question is, can I re-use the same screw holes when I re-attach the panel? This will be the first time they’ve been removed, so I’m assuming they aren’t stripped or anything, but just wondering whether I’m inviting danger given they are drilled directly into the wood (no anchor or anything). I think drilling new holes will make the panel hang funny. If I reuse the same holes, would it be obvious if there were an issue? Want to make sure the panel doesn’t just come crashing off. Thanks!

I haven't actually removed the panel yet so I don't have very helpful pictures, but I've attached two photos of the refrigerator. On the photo of the open door, the screws are attached to a bracket behind that white plastic. Not very helpful I know, but wanted to have a game plan before I actually remove the panel. Thanks.
Go to sub zero's website and look for the panel installation instructions, then work backwards.
Not sure how it is with your particular fridge, but in many cases of wood front appliances there’s a bracket that is screwed to the wood panel and then that bracket engages with the appliance door along with some locking screws.
Worst case scenario you’d just need to fill the old hole with a dowel and redrill for screw
Thanks - that’s exactly how mine is attached, with a bracket screwed into the panel. I’ll use a dowel if any holes look stripped.
