I’m making a bench seat that’s part painted, part mahogany finished with Waterlox. I taped off the part that’s the mahogany finished with Watelox and then sparayed the rest with waterbone enamel paint. I got a pretty clean edge, but when I took the tape off, it left some of the tape adhesive behind on the Waterlox finish. The Waterlox as only been dry for a couple of days, so I’m a little concerned about using a solvent on the tape goo. I’m afraid it might mess up the Waterlox finish. Any suggestions?

If during those couple of days the piece has been in reasonably warm and dry conditions then a medium power solvent, such as naptha or mineral spirits isn't likely to have any effect on the waterlox, though to be on the safe side I would not leave it soaking in solvent for long periods of time.
Thanks Steve; that did the trick.
