Recently I have been working on a Noah’s Ark project complete with numerous animal figures which my daughter and I have been cutting out on my scroll saw. We used a variety of hardwoods to provide variety in the animal colors. I used a spray adhesive to temporarily (I thought) attach paper patterns for the figures but when I remove some of them they stick to the wood. I assume I didn’t let them dry long enough and/or used too much of the adhesive. Does anyone have any ideas for removing the paper and residue? What should I do in the future to prevent this from happening again? Thanks.

Try a heat gun first - if that doesn't work, use lacquer thinner.

Hair dryer, or Naptha or mineral spirits. Re: the spray adhesive, the longer you let that set before you apply the paper, the lighter the "set" is. Of course quantity matters too :-) Paper should be 10-12" away from the can, and a bit more than a "waft" will generally give you enough coverage. If I'm having sticky-problems, I use hair dryer to warm up the paper before trying to remove.

Duke: I use a spray adhesive remover from 3M. A bit expensive but removes many kinds of glue and residue. Duke

Is she still talking to you? I did things with my daughters but I was so safety.. They got mad at me and left the shop...
