Found this shelf with a beautiful blue color and want to paint the white one to that blue or a similar color. Im trying to be budgety, and found some different paints…

My question: What kind of paint would work on this?
Also: What preparation might be necessary before painting it?
I realize this is about painting, I have woodworking questions also and I’m new to the forum so excuse me if I don’t know the extent of interest here…
Sincerely, Charlie

Take your sample or even the thing itself to a good quality paint store,- where the local professional painters line up in the morning. Not the local hardware ,probably ,and not the big box for sure. They can computer match your color and recommend the type of paint for your situation.
I have had really good results doing this trying to match old kitchen units.
You have to get really close to work out which are the original foil and which are new.
