Hi, Peter,
A customer has created blurry “white” spots on a table top that I built for them. They were created by using a steam iron to try to remove wrinkles from a table cloth. The top is veneered with makore over mdf, and finished with about 6 to 8 coats of Varathane 900 gloss polyurethane. Can you help? What are my options short of total refinishing?
UPDATE: Peter, I wiped the surface with naptha and that removed the “whitish” spots. They were not as severe as the client described over the phone. She promises to be vigilent in the future and will rewax the surface herself.
Thanks and best regards,
Tom Abbott

Tom,
How have you been? Questions that answer themselves are rare.
I'm glad it wasn't as bad as was described. You're lucky it was just in the wax. They can be more taxing (as you know) sometimes.
Hope things are going well with you and the family.
Take care.
Peter
