I was recently drilling out the underside of a granite top to accept a threaded gromet so that I could attach the top to the base. I cracked the top side real bad. the percusion of the bit must have done this. My question is; Can this be repaired or do i have to have a new one made (cost 650.00 for the first piece) I do have all the cracked chips from the mess up.
Help me please, LMC

If the break was clean, you can epoxy the two halves together and have an almost invisible repair, but seamlessly reassembling a shattered piece that has broken into chips will be far more difficult, but what have you got to lose?
Use a clear epoxy, the five minute kind for attaching chips together, a slow setting type for assembling larger sections.
It is very easy to epoxy hardware onto granite, in the future, rather than drill the granite, just use an adhesive to attach a flanged grommet onto the backside of the slab.
