I’m looking for a replacement tire for the Ridgid BS1400 bandsaw. The bottom tire keeps slipping back on the wheel until the blade makes contact with the wheel. The tire is obviously loose, it’s not difficult to remove with one’s fingers. The replacement tires are back ordered 6/22/07. Checking around hasn’t yielded any in stock replacements. Are there any other tires that would work (Delta, Jet, whatever?)? Ridgid considers this to be warranteable conditioned with returing the saw to an authorized rep, min distance approx. 100 miles. This is my first posting, advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Tires for any 14" bandsaw should work. Also, there are accessory 14" urethane tires available from many of the on-line woodworking stores.
Change both tires. If one is failing the second one is about to fail.
The last time I looked, the Ridgid band saw was just a standard Asian copy of the Delta saw. There are only one or two factories that make them no matter what the brand.
The tires from any other Chinese made saw that looks like your's will probably fit, but I can't absolutely guarantee it. Jet or Grizzly are good bets, you can also get good tires from Iturra design. Tires meant for the American made Delta may not fit.
