My husband and I are turning an old upright piano into a wine bar. The legs are beautiful but dirty. How do you suggest I clean them?
We we are almost finished with it and it’s been a fun project! Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'd start with mineral spirits. Use a brush to work it into all the grooves and crevices to loosen things up, then wipe it off. Several applications will likely be needed. Old furniture probably has lots of wax and dust buildup. There are lots of refinishing videos on YouTube to consult.
Jfska,
Thank you for the feedback. I tried mineral spirits, but I think the one I had was old as it was a thick white. I will buy a new bottle and try again. We used Castile liquid soap on the top and sides and it cleaned up really well. We were thinking about trying that on the legs. Any thoughts?
Brendasan, use of a vegetable base soap is a good place to start. I prefer Murphy's my self. Mineral spirits is a good next stop. Some of the newer stuff on the store shelves will turn white due to the newer formulations. (Less VOC)'c. If the state you are living in has the old type use it. If that does not work try denatured alcohol and or lacquer thinner. Castile should do it.
