Request your input on a media wall with hidden shelves
Hello Folks – I would like to construct something like the below on a long wall as a built in that protrudes from the wall (on top of the drywall) where one half of the wall has something like this but the other half would be a bump out for a linear electric fireplace with a tv on top and preferably finished with shiplap. I am looking for some guidance on building the below. I already know how to use pivot hinges and i am assuming I would need to use the same. I am a DIY homeowner. Could I use this forum to see some input?

The members here have a vast amount of experience and knowledge. I'm sure you can gain some instruction or insight for your wall project.
I can start sharing mode details once there are more responses. Happy to provide any information needed.
I would suggest that "one" of the easiest solutions is to get a book like FWW "Furniture & Cabinet Construction". I used this early on and was very helpful. Out of print but copies still available I think. There are other books on built-in cabinetry etc. too that will help you to design your cabinets etc.
+1 for FWW "Furniture & Cabinet Construction"
A digital version is included in the FWW Unlimited Membership. There is a free trial period for FWW Unlimited where you can access it and lots of other information to help with your project.
Here is the link to the digital copy behind the FWW paywall.

Sincerely appreciate the link. I downloaded and have started reading.
Is what you are proposing freestanding or built in( or out, as the case may be)? Is it paint grade like the one pictured or wood finish? Are you handy,as in ,have you made things before? What tools and equipment do you have access to? Will the TV be behind doors? In front of doors? I have no idea what a linear electric fireplace is but I'm assuming there is no actual fire. Is it heavy? " Shiplap" is quite different from the unit pictured. I think maybe you should maybe draw a little sketch with dimensions of what you have in mind with placement of the TV and fireplace etc. and post it here.
Let me try to answer.

It will be a bump out from the wall and integrated with the wall so that when someone looks at it it looks like a wall.

Paint grade

I am very handy and done a number of DIY projects. I have all the tools necessary.

TV will be on top of the shiplap wall. A liner electric fireplace is a narrow fireplace above which I can mount the tv.

Will do.
