I need a bandsaw capable of resawing maple and oak. I am looking at the Hitachi CB75F, but I’m concerned about the 2.8hp motor and it’s dependancy on the expensive 3″ blade. I have heard that the Bridgewood PBS 440 or 540 might be a better choice. Does anyone have any input on these saws or any suggestions on a better machine? Additionally there is a used CB 600 in my area.
Thanks for your input

Peter,
The Hitatchi is good for resawing and that is it. Pretty exspensive price tag for a single use machine. I would look at all the Italian bandsaws. Bridgewood carries the ACM line which is a very nice bandsaw, but you may also want to check into Agazzani and Mini Max saws as well.
I am sure all three suppliers are running promotions right now because of the IWF woodworking show this weekend.
