I have a 4 x 6 that I would like to straighten, however I do not have a bandsaw. Is there a way to do this on a table saw. Can I build a special jig I can build and use?

First let me clarify your question. Are you trying to create a straight edge on a board that doesn't have a straight edge? If so, here's how I do it on the tablesaw.
Take a piece of plywood with a straight edge that is equal to or longer than your rough lumber and just about the same width. Screw it to the top face of the rough lumber so that the straight edge of the plywood hangs over the rough lumber and makes contact with the rip fence. (Make sure to locate the screws where they won't interfere with the finished piece.)
Then set your rip fence so that when you run the straight plywood edge against it, it trims of the rough edge.
P.S. Make sure there's no bowing or warping in the lumber because that could lead to a dangerous cut.

Thanks I will give that a try.
Just to be clear, I edited this line below:
"Then set your rip fence so that when you run the straight plywood edge against it, it trims of the OPPOSITE rough edge."
