I am looking for advice resetting planer knife blades on the delta 15″ planer. Are any of the aftermarket setting jigs worth the money or is it best to just utilize the delta supplied knife setting tool ?

I've never used any of the after market planer knife jigs, but seem to have no problem using the factory jig. On the Delta or my DeWalt portable. Would not recommend spending a lot of $$ on a third party item until you've had the opportunity to try one out. Most people don't have to change knives that often. Perhaps you can borrow a couple of different ones from people in your area if you have trouble with the factory jig.
I hate doing most machinery setup/tuneup maintenance and changing knives in particular. I bought the highly praised Jointer Pal for changing my jointer knives. Right now it's stuffed in the back side of a drawer & will stay there unless I can find someone to relieve me of it. Went back to using a dial guage. I'll put a plug in for the A-Line It kit here. They have a nicely thought out system.
