Can someone please recommend the proper type of respirator to use for HVLP spraying of lacquer? I am a hobbyist doing work on kitchen cabinets, etc.
I have looked at some respirators at the local hardware stores & home centers and they are specified as being suitable for paints that do or do not have certain chemical compositions. Since I do not know much about the chemical compositions of lacquer or any other paint, it has not helped. Neither have the store employees.
Thanks,
Mike

Lee valley sells one that i have used for spraying lacquer. it works quiet well although things can get a little sweaty if your spraying a lot of pieces outside on a hot day. but i think that would be the case with most respirators
Mike,
There's an article on respirator's here at FWW. It's located at http://www.taunton.com/finewoodworking/pages/w00112.asp
It should help you choose a good one for the products you're using.
