I’m refinishing some bedroom furniture made from solid walnut and originally finished with Watco Danish Oil (natural). Some of the drawer faces have shadows from the pulls. How can I restore the entire face to the original wood color prior to reapplying the oil finish?

Bruce,
If you plan on using Watco again, try one of the colored oils they supply. You may have to do a couple of applications before the color comes up to the level you want it.
This approach would be a " first do no harm" way of looking at it. I don't like to use the piece I'm finishing as my test bed. If you were to stain the face and didn't like the results, you've created another set of problems.
Walnut is one of the woods that fades with age. It's the nature of the species. You can periodically add another coat of oil to keep the color as you like it.

Thanks Peter,I'll try the darker Watco oil on a test piece and see what happens.bruce
