I have a Rev-O-Noc No.4 plane which I thought I would restore. It’s difficult to find info on this tool but it seems to have been made in the mid twenties and is a quality tool.
The lever cap is broken. I’m looking for a source for a replacement. Thought a Stanley of that era may fit if nothing else.
Any other ideas?
Thanks, John

Maybe go to an air port
>Rev-O-Noc<
Sounds like something in need of higher octane fuel.
don't mind me
just being a butt
octane
I had the same thought. So, I guess that makes us butts-of-a-feather, or similarly un-hinged. ;-)
Conover airport.....
Just a stiff drink
Maybe Spock needs a bit of the forbidden Romulin ale, that has to be smuggled in across the neutral zone ;-)
Revonoc
Have another look. Rev - o - noc is most likely just the name of the blade. I have found that parts from #4's can be interchangeable. Lever caps are very easy to change out. If you can find another old #4, that cap should fit. I've picked up 5 bench planes from several makers including stanley and all of the lever caps fit the other. (all for $10 or less.)
revonoc comes from the guy in charge of that division of HSB, who's name was Conover. He reversed his name and put it on the blade.

Aaaaahhh ! Conover
As Mr. Spock on Star Trek says: Fascinating ! That was what Nazard was trying to squeeze into my pea brain.
spock
Tall guy, pointy ears? Thought that was Dr. Kirk.

Oh no . . .
You are describing Nurse Chappel who used to be the captain. It's complicated.
PS: and I just noticed I left out the "a" in the previous post and spelled Fscinating. That's Spock after a bit too much scrumpy down at the pub while on shore leave.
'a'
Assumed it was an inadvertent omission caused by too much texting/abbreviating. Besides, while in a drunken stupor Spock might lapse into song, i'm quite sure that he wouldn't misspell anything.
John revonoc was supplied by stanley.
