Does anyone know if the Performax 16-32 can be wired for 220/240 volt? Is there an on-board circuit breaker? Thanks.

There is an overload trip on the Performax drum motor. There is a separate feed motor that does not appear to be dual voltage, so I have assumed that the overall unit is 120 volt only. I use a clamp-on ammeter so that I can adjust the speed to the load on the sander (a huge help). I also run my 120 volt shop tools on a power strip that has a 15 amp breaker, so that I don't pop the house circuits as much. I have popped the strip several times with the Performax, but have never tripped the overload or the house circuit.

Alan,
If the motor can be wired for 220 volt you will find that information on the inside of the motor's circuit box. Changing the voltage may require new switches and a separate circuit for the belt drive motor.
If you are doing this to get more power out of the motor you may be disappointed, unless the 120 volt wiring in your shop is undersized you won't see any improvement in the sander's performance when you switch over to 220 volt. As has been noted by a number of people these machines are underpowered.
