In case anyone hasn’t read the results of my first thread I ended up getting the Delta 36-650C. It set up very easily (good instructions) and after only a couple of minor adjustments is cutting easily and accurately. HD offered 1 year no interest deal and that along with the $200 saving over the Ridgid and $300 saving over the General did the trick for me. I would have gone for the General 185 if the stores offered en interest free deal too but they didn’t. Thanks again to every one who helped me reach a decision.
Now for question # 2 – does anyone have or know anything about Rex Cut Band saws from Fine Machine Tools British Columbisa Canada? I have a Rex Cut floor model CI, 3/4 HP, Type HS 19, green in color. Its running nicely. I’d just like some background on the saw.

Shinny, congrats on the new saw! Hope it cuts and keeps you happy for a long, long time. Be sure and read the fine print on your no-interest contract.

Thanks. And thanks for the suggestion to check Canadian sites for Rex Cut. It turns out the BB logo on my Rex Cut band saw stands for Busy Bee Tools. The ccompany started out in British Columbia in 1976 and apparently relocated its Head Office to Toronto. In essence it sounds like Rex Cut became Craftex somewhere along the way. A number of folks indicate Craftex is the Canadian version of Grizzly and is comparable to King. There was even some suggestion in discussions that by virtue of consensus or family ties Craftex pursues the Canadian market and Grizzly the US market.
"Busy Bee Tools" -- I love it! Glad you're finding some info, sounds pretty interesting.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
