Anyone had any experience with the Ridgid 10″ saw? looking for a new saw and have been impressed so far with the Ridgid comparing well to Delta et al. Use is for home shop, occassional to moderate use. Would be interested in anyone’s thoughts.

Skyking,
I went to HD to take a look at the Ridgid saws, Look nice from the top. Fence seems solid & large. Then I looked under the table. Every thing is built so lite weight like Craftsman garbage. Also the motor looked small for a 1-1/2 hp. The whole thing just looked like something I would have to replace in short order.
Good luck & keep shopping
Thx for rply..looking at Delta as well but HD makes delivery easy. We'll see!
I have the 3612 tablesaw which has served me well so far. It has a good fence, is fairly easy to set up and move around, and the guard is easy to remove for certain cuts. I am a weekend woodworker and for me, the saw represents a good value. In my opinion most traditional contractors saws will cut wood OK, after that I think it usually comes down to a personal decision. Good Luck!
Thx for reply..Agree on fence. Saw has other good features. Comparing Delta in the same price range and think overall the Ridgid is stronger..motor maybe light but I doult I'll notice it formwhat I'm doing.
i have had this saw for 2 yrs. works just fine, and the wheeled base is invaluable!
it is somewhat underpowered, and I would have preferred the wings to be a smooth top as opposed to 'fins'.

I have that saw and am very satisfied with it's heft and accuracy.
my only criticism is that it is not easy or comfortable to change the blade bevel.
Thx for reply..I'll follow advice about waxing table.
I just remembered -- it wasn't a small job of assembly -- it took me several hours, even with the right tools. but go ahead and take your time, -- you'll be glad you did.
Thanks..I was told the same by the Ridgeid rep at HD. He agve me a hint...cut the box away and assemble it upside down. Then get 3 or 4 string neighbors to help lift it upright.
oh yeah, clean the table very well, and then paste wax it from day one and you'll never see rust and also reap the rewards of a ball-bearing smooth table top.
I think that for the occasional use you have mentioned it is a good machine. I have had the Ridgid TS2424 for 3 years and it runs well with minimal maintenance.
Thx for reply..looks like I'lkl get the Ridgid altho I have l looked at Delta and others. HD is nearby and getting it home is easier thatn truck delivery.
hi skyking1 I have the Rigid 10in with the folding stand with wheels and love it for me it is better then the reg contractors saw as i haul it in my trailer w/ back door that is a rampwhen opened . it is strong enough and it came with a liftime warrenty and i think you can still get warrenty if its bought before Jan,30 2004.

Agree. Yr right about Lifetime warranty, just keep original, purchase receipt. I was impreseed with assembly instructions and relative ease. Everything was correctly set up out of the box. Very minor adjsutment necesaary. Good product. Thx for the response.
I bought mine november and have been 100% happy with it and i was also impressed that it was already set up and the fence was lined up and wait till you go to set it up and move it around at how easy it is it still amazes me. my friend steve bought one and hes happy with his too . Dogboy
