Hi Tooldoc,
just checked Ridgid tool site. Their site has a lot of glitches at least on my machine. Links don't work properly, some don't work at all. I hope the tools work better.

Bill,
Must be your browser; mine works fine. Did you notice that their lifetime warranty is about to become a thing of the past? Ends 12/31 and after that 3 years. Makes you wonder if they were losing money on the old products with lifetime warranty, or anticipate that happening with the new???
Was surprised to see little change in the appearance of any of their machines. At least the outsides don't look like Ryobi.
Jeff
Jeff,
I didn't notice the Warranty terms had changed. Still having a problem with their site. I use Apple Safari, but have the same problem if I log on with Netscape. I have been pretty happy with the Rigid Table saw I have, but had a problem getting flat dados with a brand new Amana dado set. I haven't got to checking the run out of the arbor, so dont know if that or the dado set is at fault.
Think I will think twice before buying the new Rigid off shore built tools.
Bill
Bill,
I assume you are getting satisfactory cuts with your 10" blade. Checking the runout wouldn't hurt, but I'll bet it's the dado set. (Sometimes they're not ground properly.)May be worth finding the cause soon so you can get a refund on the Amana set - I know they're not cheap. Good luck.
Jeff
What about the calendar? Is that being made offshore, too? That's the most durable thing I have made by Ridgid!
No discussion about Ridgid is complete without a calendar reference.

Nope there still USA Boobies there Buddy!!!!
Jeff,
I get fine ready to glue jounts from the saw and Forrest blade, so I'm inclined to think it is the Amana set. got it on sale a Woodworkers Warehouse some time ago and just used it for the first time recently. I'll check the runout as soon as I get it together t get a gauge.

Looks the same, just orange. We should have bought stock in orange spray paint in the can. ha..
sarge..jt
SARGE: IM sure they are the same just diffrent color,& the portable tools are Ryobi in a orange paint also.. only good thing out of this whole deal is that IM sure Home Depot is going to discount the old Ridgig stock on hand before this orange stuff arrives..

Ridgid tools are now being manufactured by One World in Hong Kong which also manufactures Ryobi woodworking tools.
Go and buy vintage American made tools and see what real tools are, you won't be sorry.

I have Delta ,Porter Cable & Milwaukke in my shop the only Ridgid stuff there is plumbing tools.....
ToolDoc
Amen! Just picked up a 1950 Delta jig saw (now called scroll saws) -for $240 - wonderful investment. All the parts still available, weighs about 150lbs of cast and sheet steel - solidly built. Sad thing is there is a whole generation of woodworkers who think Ridgid, Grizzly, DeWalt (not the radial saws but the portable tools) are "it" in woodworking - sad!
