I’m about to buy my Unisaw at last, What are the advantages and disadvantages
of left tilt? What effect will this have on the rip fence?
Thank’s, Dick.

There was a rather extensive discussion on this recently, so check the archives. Briefly, most (but not all) consider left tilt safer to use. Left tilt will result in erronious readings on the Biesmeyer when blade is not at 90 degrees. Unifence is supposed to be able to compensate for this. I've used both now, and prefer the left tilt.

I own right tilt Unisaws and a PM66. For cutting sheet stock I have a sliding table on the left side of one of the Unisaws. So with a left tilt the sliding table will have to go on the right side of the saw to avoid tear out. I prefer the Unisaw so I have two Unisaws side-by-side with one Unifence front rail connected to both. This way their is right and left tilt. I'll try to post a pict.

Just a brief side trip from the topic. For those of you it will make any difference to, in case of any confusion that may arise, be advised there are now two different participants using the user name Dick.
JPEG format. I'll try again. This site is not Mac OS 10 friendly.

Dick,
Works fine now. Not Mac friendly? I wasn't aware they still make those things. I know Atari is a thing of the past but would never have guessed there were still a few Macs floating around out there.
Jeff
Where do you think Windows came from, the Mac. The last ad Tauton Press ran for help said must be Mac savey. Most people would not be using a computer if the couldn't "point-and-click".

Dick,
Just yankin' your chain. I really did have an Atari when I was in grad. school. It had 132K and would run circles around those little 64K Apples and Comodores. I was king of the hill until someone at our college bought an IBM PC with its impossibly huge 1 megabyte. Most judged it rediculously large, and more than even NASA could possibly need. (Just a show-off machine for a rich kid.) I'm not sure what we were worse at, prophecy or market evaluation!
Jeff
DJK,
What kind of format did you use for this picture? My computer won't open it.
